What Spider Veins and Broken Capillaries Are
Spider veins are small, widened blood vessels near the surface of the skin. On the face they often show up around the nose and on the cheeks, where they are also called broken capillaries. On the legs they look like thin red, blue, or purple lines. Sun, genetics, hormones, and rosacea all play a part.
Creams cannot reach these vessels because they sit under the skin. A vascular laser can.
How Vascular Laser Treatment Works
The laser light is absorbed by the blood in the target vessel. The light turns to heat, the vessel wall closes, and over the next few weeks your body absorbs the vessel. The skin above it is not cut or broken, so there is little or no downtime.
Rosacea and Facial Redness
Rosacea causes flushing and redness across the cheeks, nose, and chin, and it often brings visible small vessels with it. Laser treatment does not cure rosacea, but it can clearly reduce the redness and the visible vessels. Many clients with rosacea need less cover-up makeup after their series.
Leg Spider Veins
We treat small spider veins on the legs. Leg treatments cover a larger area and are priced on their own. If you have large, ropey, or painful veins, talk to a vein doctor first. Those veins can point to a circulation problem that a laser does not fix.
Combine Treatments for Clearer Skin
Redness and brown spots often show up together on sun-damaged skin. Many clients treat both with sun spot removal. For texture and glow, add laser skin revitalization.
