How Laser Hair Removal Works

Each pulse of laser light passes through the skin and is absorbed by the pigment in the hair. The light turns into heat and damages the follicle, which is the small pocket in the skin that grows the hair. A damaged follicle grows a thinner hair, or no hair at all.

Our laser delivers its energy gradually and evenly. That is why most clients describe laser hair removal here as virtually pain-free. A small area such as the upper lip takes about 15 minutes. A large area such as the legs or back takes up to 45 minutes.

Safe for All Skin Types

Older lasers worked best on light skin with dark hair. Our laser is suitable for all skin types, including darker and tanned skin. At your first visit, we look at your skin and hair and set the treatment for you.

Treatment Areas

We treat almost any area of the face and body. Our packages are priced by the size of the area:

  • Small areas: chin, upper lip, unibrow, sideburns, back of the neck, hands, feet, and areola.
  • Medium areas: bikini line, underarms, full face, upper arms, and forearms.
  • Large areas: Brazilian, upper back, lower back, abdomen, chest, upper legs, lower legs, and full arms.

Why You Need More Than One Session

Hair grows in cycles. At any time, only part of the hair in an area is in its active growth phase, and the laser works best on that hair. Each session catches a new group of follicles as they enter that phase. That is why most clients need 6 to 8 sessions, 4 to 6 weeks apart. After the series, a yearly touch-up keeps the skin smooth.

How to Prepare

  • Shave the area before your appointment.
  • Do not wax, pluck, or thread between sessions. Shaving is fine.
  • Tell us about any new medicines or skin conditions at your visit.

After Your Treatment

You can go back to your day right away. The skin can look a little pink for a short time. Over the next one to two weeks, treated hairs fall out. Many clients also notice fewer ingrown hairs and less razor bump as the series goes on.

Smooth skin is a good start for other skin goals. You can pair laser hair removal with sun spot removal or laser skin revitalization.

Laser Hair Removal FAQs

Does laser hair removal hurt?

Most clients find it comfortable. Our laser delivers its energy gradually and evenly, so it feels like warmth or a light snap instead of a sharp sting.

Is laser hair removal permanent?

It gives permanent hair reduction. After a full series, most treated hair does not come back. Some fine hair can return over time, and it is usually lighter and sparser. A yearly touch-up keeps the area smooth.

Is laser hair removal safe for dark skin?

Yes. Our laser is suitable for all skin types, including darker and tanned skin. We set each treatment for your skin and hair.

How many laser hair removal sessions will I need?

Most clients get their best results after 6 to 8 sessions, spaced 4 to 6 weeks apart. Our packages include 6 sessions.

Should I shave before my appointment?

Yes. Shave the treatment area before your visit. The laser then targets the hair root under the skin instead of the hair on the surface.

Can I wax or pluck between sessions?

No. Waxing, plucking, and threading pull out the root that the laser needs to find. Shaving between sessions is fine.
